MUSIC IN TRAILERS
|
In media there a variety of different sound techniques which are used over a multiple of different genre films, these are:
-Diegetic(sound that actor/actress can hear within a scene, i.e telephone ringing) -Non-diegetic(sound that the actor/actress cannot hear with in a scene, i.e dog parking in the background or scene) -Parallel( music that fits with the scene, background) -Contrapuntal( music that doesn't seem to be the right choice in a scene i.e happy music; death) -Dialogue( what an actor/actress is speaking) -Direct address( using personal pronouns like, you, must, do, to aim at the audience) -Voiceover(someone speaking over a clip, scene) -Ambient( the background sounds which are present in a scene or location) However to make a good horror OTS we need to use a range of sounds to create a eerie, haunted atmosphere for OTS. Some ways in which we can do this is by using different pitches(high and low)as high makes the audience instantly think of something unimportant, innocent, so they feel relax but we can use this to our advantage as we could make a jump scare for audience. Whereas low pitch summarise something to be dangerous so can keep this stereotypical thought to keep the audience thinking. |
